About me

I am a theatre design graduate with a strong passion for design, currently working at At Last Events, where I design and deliver pop-up installations, branded environments, and scenic elements for major clients. My background spans scenic art, workshops, and large-scale graphics production, allowing me to develop designs from initial concept through to final build.

My Timeline

Lead Designer

I am currently a Lead Designer at At Last Events, where I take responsibility of design projects from initial concept through to final delivery. This role represents a significant step in my career, requiring clear creative direction, decision-making, and accountability for delivering resolved, high-quality design outcomes.

Leading projects has strengthened my confidence as a designer and creative, allowing me to work independently or lead collaborative teams while approaching design as both a creative and strategic process. I continually develop my skills, refine my approach, and challenge my thinking to ensure each project is visually strong, meets my brief, and client expectations. Drawing on my background across theatre, production, and graphic design, I bring a strong understanding of collaboration, execution, and how design decisions translate into real-world results.

I am now focused on continuing to grow as a designer, taking on increasingly complex challenges and pushing my creative career forward with confidence and intent.

2025 - 2026

Graphic Designer

I moved into a Graphic Designer role at At Last Events, where I was responsible for designing large-scale corporate event schemes within a team. This marked a clear shift into design as my primary focus, allowing me to apply my creative background within a fast-paced, commercially driven environment.

In this role, I designed and developed visual concepts using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva, creating work that needed to be both engaging for the client and functional at scale. My background in events, exhibitions and production influenced my approach to design, giving me a strong understanding of the full design process, and the importance of clarity, intention, and feasibility in every design decision.

This role solidified my commitment to design-led work and confirmed my desire to continue developing as a creative designer.

2024-2025

Workshop Assistant & Freelance Scenic Creative

2023-2024

I worked as a Workshop Assistant at Wise Productions while also freelancing for True Staging, contributing to large-scale commercial and event-led projects. These roles expanded my experience beyond theatre, allowing me to work at greater production scales while continuing to develop creatively.

Alongside making and installation, I actively contributed design input in collaboration with lead designers, particularly around scenic painting, textures, finishes, and the development of set and event elements. Working across multiple projects and alongside a wide range of designers exposed me to different creative approaches, workflows, and production demands.

This period strengthened my understanding of how design functions within large teams and real-world constraints, and clearly defined my ambition to move into design-led roles where I could take greater creative ownership.

Scenic Artist Assistant

After graduating, I took on a Scenic Artist Assistant role to deliberately strengthen my understanding of how design concepts are translated into physical environments. This role allowed me to work closely with designers and production teams, applying scenic artistry techniques while contributing creatively.

I consistently worked with design references and technical drawings, ensuring the original creative intent was maintained while adapting designs to practical production requirements. I contributed to multiple theatre productions, including Sucker Punch, which toured nationally with sponsorship from the National Theatre.

This experience deepened my understanding of the relationship between design and execution, reinforcing the importance of clear, considered design throughout the production process.

2022-2023

Education

I studied Theatre Design at Nottingham Trent University, where I built a solid foundation in both conceptual and technical design. Throughout the course, I developed skills across SketchUp, AutoCAD, model making, scenic artistry, and sculpting, while learning to take projects from initial concept through to final build.

While the degree covered a wide range of practical disciplines, my focus was always on the design process; developing concepts, visual storytelling, and creating cohesive, considered design solutions. This education shaped my design-led approach and established the mindset I bring to my work today: thinking holistically, designing with intention, and understanding how ideas translate into physical outcomes.
